The working principle of brake adjusting arm

During the design of the brake adjusting arm, different brake clearance values will be preset according to the models of different axles. In normal use, if the clearance exceeds the limit value, the brake adjustment arm will drive the internal unidirectional clutch to reduce the clearance value by one gear when completing the braking action return, so as to keep the braking clearance within a correct range.
 

The function of brake adjusting arm

When the truck is driving, frequent braking will cause the brake shoes and the brake drum to continue to wear, causing the gap between them to gradually increase. Finally, the push rod stroke of the brake chamber becomes longer and the thrust decreases, resulting in braking lag and braking force reduction. In order to ensure driving safety, there must be a proper gap between the brake shoe and the brake drum. The adjusting arm is a device used to adjust and control the gap between the brake shoe and the brake drum.
